Repository details

Part of the [Repo name here] repository.

Contact: contact info goes here, freeform set up in repository.

Location: location info here.

This has been moved from here to the right sidebar (at the top) and back to here again a few times because different members of the working group would like to see it in different locations. Moved here because this seems to be the majority opinion.

About the image

In the future, this might be able to include things like zoom functionality and/or a slideshow where there are multiple digital items available. It may also be able to automatically pull in a digital item, as has been requested by members of the Working Group.

For Phase I, however, Brian (developer) has confirmed that none of the above can be part of scope given the complexity required and what ASpace can currently handle. For now, therefore, the image field is more of a "branding" field, and is simply a URL field that the archivist can enter a URL into. ASpace will then render the image referenced by the URL as an image in the PUI.

Open full contents & arrangement on its own

This display focuses in on the item within the collection arrangement. It only goes three levels deep in the hierarchy, and only shows up to three items before and after the location of the item itself. The user must switch to the full contents and arrangement to get all of the details.

Each item links to the record.

This layout is largely based on the Princeton finding aids (example).

We explored other options for the layout of Contents & Arrangement, and this is what the WG preferred.

For Jungleen when designing: Please think farther down in the hierarchy than simply three levels. Example of the level of depth to consider: http://pui.archivesspace.org/repositories/10/archival_objects/21964 (from Mark Custer, feel free to ask him questions if you have them).

We are still working on the overview, which displays the contents and arrangement similar to this: http://archives.nypl.org/mss/18400#detailed (this may be more of a phase II item, to be discussed with Brad).

This is meant to address AR-838 - As an archivist, I would like the option to see a multi-level description in either the intellectual (level) or physical (container) arrangement.
